Realism, beauty and birds
Globally acclaimed local artist Brett Jarrett’s new exhibition Birds of the South West Coast highlights the stunning birdlife of our region. Brett’s extraordinary calling as a naturalist and artist has led him to become one of Australia’s most collectable and recognisable realist painters of the animal world. He has dedicated his entire life to observing and documenting the identification, behaviour and beauty of wildlife — in particular Australian birds , whales and dolphins — through his art. These special subjects have been the driving force over his 30 years as a professional painter and conservationist, and have taken him around the world on several occasions, becoming the most travelled of Australia’s contemporary animal artists.
Birds of the South West Coast opens at 4pm on Saturday 7th June with Brett speaking about his life, his art and his feathered subjects, and runs until Sunday 29 June.
