All are welcome to the opening night of Port Fairy's newest gallery’s new exhibition: The Overwintering Project. Featuring guest speaker and local bird expert Andrew Patterson, the evening will share details of the The Overwintering Project: Mapping Sanctuary, which seeks to raise awareness for our migratory shorebirds and their habitat by inviting artists to help make them visible. Glyph Gallery hosts this exhition of international and local prints dedicated to celebrating and protecting migratory shore birds and their habitats across the planet. Every year, migratory shorebirds - which are our most endangered group of birds - journey from the shores of Australia and New Zealand to their breeding grounds above the arctic circle in Siberia and Alaska. The remarkable annual circuit that they fly is called the East Asian-Australasian Flyway and it passes through 23 countries. Works in this show explore and highlight this international path and the creatures found along its way.
